Waking up was hard at 3:25 - a crumpet with nutella helped
The first 200 meters was awful - but then the legs loosened up
The rest of the 7,000 meters felt ok.
When I first put my spreadsheet together for my support crew, John looked at the wide open slots and said "Day 2, 4am, that'll be shit - Ill do that with you". We've suffered years of hardship and joy whilst watching our beloved Fulham FC together, so we know what the meaning of resilience is, but today was on another level. To top all that off, John is getting a short sleep and then going into the office today! He's got some major life choices coming up so it was good to talk that over.
This was my last run in the dark, so I'm hoping the circadian rhythms kick in to make 8am feel less shit.
Fingers still peeling, toes still sore, but hips not getting worse.... just a half marathon to go!
Stats: 7.11 km, 52:52, 7:26 /km
Tshirt: This Fulham FC top was a birthday present some 14 years ago from John and Mo, a reminder from the glory days of Clint Dempsey, Danny Murphy and Brede Hangeland
